Art in the Community
A great example of art designed by the community for the community, this Woodland Guardian or Spirit mysteriously appeared in a clearing coppiced by volunteers.
The sculpture rises up phoenix like from the wood floor, protecting the new coppice and seeming to “guard” the new growth of hazel, stimulated by the coppicing.
Huge amounts of interest and delight have been created by the Sculpture, and we would like to encourage more projects like this to engage the community with their local woodland environment.
Local school children now hold an annual Art displays in the woods, encouraging their whole families to attend and enjoy the art displays in a woodland environment.
